α) Recording, documentation and digitisation of primary sources (100sources/Platform I)
The main research activity of the project will create a digital repository of annotated primary documents on migration history and experience from 1922 to the present day. The repository will be accompanied by the relevant bibliography, as well as a digital map of institutions, museums, monuments and collectives related to Asia Minor refugee history. Visitors to the project’s first digital platform entitled: “100sources”, where the above will be included, will be able to draw on documented material for research, cultural, tourist and educational activities.
b) Tools and participatory design actions for the study of refugee memory and experience in urban space (100reflections/platform II)
Through educational programmes, history and participatory design workshops, both the collection of new research data and the dissemination of the research process to different population groups interested in studying the refugee past and (co-)shaping narratives about the history and present of the cities where the project operates will be carried out. In this context, a second digital platform will be created entitled: “100reflections”, which will be the main tool for the participatory and outreach activities of the project.
(c) Physical and Digital Narratives (100places/Platform III)
In the four port cities, physical and digital (Phydigital) trails, pop-up exhibitions and a model interactive game will be carried out, highlighting in innovative ways and targeting different groups of the population issues of collective memory, refugee experience and the shaping of urban space. The narratives and journeys will be included in the third platform of the project entitled: “100places”. 100memories will conclude with a central exhibition that will encapsulate its overall philosophy in early 2023.
The research project is implemented in the framework of the action RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE and is co-funded by the European Union and national resources through the Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (EPANEK) (project code: T2EDK-04827)
